A Pinch of Salt: Fortification with Iodine and Iron

The proper growth and development of all organisms, including humans, requires a complex dietary intake of nutrients. These nutrients act as cofactors, building blocks, and metabolites in biological systems and play essential roles in many biological pathways. Nutrient deficiencies pose a serious threat to the development of a global community. However, nutrient supplementation is a realistic and successful means of dietary regulation.
