Junk-Greedy Greens: Phytoremediation as a New Option for Soil Decontamination

Plants have recently become popular as a method of bioremediation. Certain plants are capable of taking up and storing large quantities of pollutants or of converting pollutants into volatile substances, which are released into the atmosphere. Others are capable of biodegradation of pollutants either by plant enzymes or microorganisms in the rhizoshpere.
